Three Destinations for Budget Travel

When deciding where to go on your next holiday, it is important to consider your budget for flights, accommodation, and spending money, before you can make an informed choice.

With flights often being expensive, it is great to find places to visit which offer cheap options once you get there, so you can enjoy your trip without worrying about overspending.

Here are three countries which we believe offer fantastic value for money once you arrive, so you can just concentrate on having fun.

India

It has been suggested that you can budget just £15 per day in India and this will be enough for your food, drink, and transport – even first class train travel and taxis are cheap.

You can stay in lovely hostels for a small cost if you are travelling around the country, and their local meals are both filling and reasonable. Just remember to only eat street food from places which look clean and organised.

India is a big country so you can also save money by planning exactly where you want to visit beforehand, and working out how to get there and where to stay.

Cambodia

An increasingly popular south east Asian holiday destination, Cambodia is a great choice for both backpackers, and those looking for a 5* trip on a budget.

With good quality hostels available from just £2.50 per night, this is a country that can definitely be explored on a budget, and it offers plenty to see, including the famous Angkor Wat temple complex.

Once again, food and travel are very cheap, and bit of advanced planning will go a long way in saving you both time and money.

Bulgaria

A bit closer to home, Bulgaria is a stunning country which offers fantastic value and gorgeous scenery.

Boasting beaches, cities, mountains, and forests, Bulgaria has something for everyone, including skiing and hiking opportunities during the right seasons.

Some of Bulgaria’s main tourist spots can be a bit pricey, although much cheaper than many other European destinations, but, as a rule, the further east you go, the cheaper things become.
