Three Places to Visit in the Czech Republic
Prague may be the most popular place to visit in the Czech Republic, but we think that you should give one of these three gems a try during your next holiday.
Český Krumlov
Beautiful Český Krumlov looks like it has come straight out of a fairytale, and its Old Town’s pretty streets and wonderful charm have won it recognition from UNESCO. Boasting winding passages and medieval architecture, Český Krumlov’s Old Town is the perfect place to get lost in and offers plenty of photo opportunities.
One of the highlights of Český Krumlov is its impressive castle. The second largest castle complex in the Czech Republic, this attraction is made up of around 40 buildings and palaces, 5 castle courts, and a stunning garden. Home to manicured lawns, lovely flowerbeds, a fountain, and a forest, the castle gardens alone are worth the trip to Český Krumlov.
Brno
For fantastic nightlife in a location where you wouldn’t expect to find it, head to Brno and immerse yourself in the student vibes during term times. Experience amazing drum and bass clubs and enjoy the fantastic café culture, before seeing what else the city has to offer.
Brno’s Old Town is the second largest in the Czech Republic, and boasts striking architecture, quaint cobbled squares, and plenty of opportunities to discover the city’s wonderful culture. If you visit in the summer, check out Brno Reservoir where you can boat, swim, and eat outside while you enjoy the weather.
Liberec
Foodies will love visiting Liberec, as this is the perfect destination for try all of the different cuisines that influence the food of the Czech Republic. Wander amongst colourful 19th century houses, marvel at the fabulous Liberec Castle, and head inside the stunning new Town Hall.
From Liberec, you’ll also see the Ještěd Mountain, home to Nordic ski track and the Hyperbole. Head to the top for views across the Jizera Mountains, and dine in the restaurant located in the Hyperbole to complete your magical Liberec holiday.
