Tips for Group Holidays
Whether you’re planning a stag or hen do, are trying to organise a big family get together, or want to take a trip away with friends, group holidays can be very difficult to plan – especially if everyone wants to get involved.
Here, we share tips for group holidays that will help you to organise a successful getaway.
Choose a leader
This may be a difficult task in itself, but because there are things that people aren’t going to agree on there really needs to be a deciding vote when things get complicated. If there’s more than one person that wants to take on the task, either ask everyone in the group to opt for their preference, or simply put the names in a hat and draw one out. It must then be agreed between you all that the leader’s decision is final, and you’ll find that this will save any time you might spend disagreeing amongst yourselves.
Be prepared to separate
Even if you have loads in common with the group you’re going on holiday with, there might be times when you can’t fit what everyone wants to do into your itinerary. In this instance, you should be prepared to separate into smaller groups so that everyone can do what they like. this not only means that no-one will miss out, but will also mean that you have lots to talk about when you regroup at the end of the day.
Mix up your days
It’s important that everyone’s preferences are taken into consideration when planning your group holiday. So although you might like to get up at 6am and seize the day, others might like to have a couple of lie-ins and take the opportunity to relax a bit. Once again, you could just decide to split into different groups, but it might be nice to experience every option during your time away, even if that does mean leaving your usual routine.
