Three German Cities you have to visit

Located just a short flight from the UK, Germany has loads for holidaymakers to do and there are plenty of amazing German cities that you have to visit in order to see everything that this country has to offer.

Here we share three of our favourite German cities and hope we can inspire you to visit them.

Berlin

Germany’s capital, and its largest city, Berlin has been steadily growing in popularity since east and west were reunited in 1990. With a fascinating history to discover, you can enjoy discovering art, museums, and architecture before heading out to take part in its famous nightlife.

For views across the city, and 26 miles into the distance on a clear day, head up the 1207 foot TV Tower and see it all from the viewing platform or the rotating cafe.

Depending on the time of year that you visit, you'll find that Berlin hosts a whole range of fun festivals and some of the country's best Christmas markets too.

Hamburg

Hamburg is the second largest city in Germany and has more bridges over its several waterways than Venice and Amsterdam combined, plus it boasts one of the biggest harbours in the world.

For a night like no other, head the the city’s previous Red Light District, Reeperbahn, where you can find everything that you would expect from a place with a seedy history, or stay within the city centre if you'd prefer to admire neo-classical style.

Cologne

Founded by Romans, Cologne is on of Germany's oldest cities and its main feature is a stunning cathedral with 157 metre high towers. Explore the old town where you will find colourful houses and cafes, plus galleries and museums,s to wander around.

Alternatively, head to its famous chocolate factory which takes you through 500 years of chocolate history and boasts exhibitions, a guided tour, and a 3 metre tall chocolate fountain at the end!
