There are loads of great things to do in Berlin when you visit the German capital, and here we share some of our favourite options to inspire you to book a trip here yourself.
Head to the museums
Those who like to take in the culture of a city during their break will love the huge number of museums that Berlin has to explore. With around 200 different museums to visit you will certainly be spoilt for choice, but the best place to head to is UNESCO World Heritage Site Museumsinsel (or Museum Island) where you will find five amazing museums that you just have to visit.
Discover the Berlin Wall
The Berlin Wall is such a big part of Germany’s history that you simply have to take a look at it for yourself when you visit. The East Side Gallery is one of the most famous sections as it is the longest surviving part of the wall and was decorated by over 100 artists in 1990 which makes it a truly stunning monument.
Visit the zoo
No Berlin break is complete without a trip to the zoo, as it is one of the largest zoos in the world, has been open since 1844, and is home to around 1400 different species! The zoo’s 20,000 residents include bears, giraffes, anteaters, flamingos, and Germany’s only giant pandas, so no matter what your favourite animal is, you are sure to find it here.
There are a number of feedings, talks, and shows throughout the day that you can attend too, so a visit to Berlin Zoo can be just as educational as it is fun!
Have a night out
Berlin is famous for its varied nightlife, as you will be able to find bars, clubs, and lounges playing something that you will love. You will find that there are plenty of opportunities to see live music during your visit too, whether this be at a punk club or a concert hall!
These are just some of the great things to do in Berlin, so why not order some Germany travel brochures and plan a trip to discover them for yourself?
