How to survive New Year’s Eve abroad

New Year’s Eve is typically a time when we celebrate the great things that have happened during the current year, and look forward to leaving the negative behind, and what better place to do this than in a completely different country?

If you are seeing in the New Year away from the UK this year, we hope that these tips on how to survive New Year’s Eve abroad will help you to have the best night ever.

Research venues

Bars, clubs and restaurants get very busy at New Year so it is advised that you decide where you would like to go in advance so you can check whether you need to book and if you can pay to secure your space. It is nice to be spontaneous but if there is anywhere you’re really looking forward to visiting it’s definitely best to check and avoid disappointment.

You might also like to enquire about dress code as although some places might usually be casual it is possible that they will have changed this for New Year’s Eve so you’ll need to make sure that you’ve packed something more formal.

Plan your journey

If you have been lucky enough to book accommodation near to where you are going out then you won’t need to worry too much about this stage, just ensure that you and those you are with know exactly how to get back in case you get split up. You might all like to have the address written down to avoid anyone getting lost!

Should you be staying further out, make sure that you have planned how you will be getting back as in some cities the public transport stops early. This may mean booking a taxi in advance but at least this will give you peace of mind and you won’t need to worry about trying to flag one down in the early hours of the morning.

We hope that these tips help you to survive New Year’s Eve abroad, and are sure that you will have an amazing time!
