For something truly historic, visit St. George Rotunda, a church that was built in the 300s. Finally, head to the medieval Boyana Church which is located in a quiet suburb of the city on the lower slopes of the Vitosha Mountain and offers peace and tranquillity.
Climb Vitosha Mountain
Reaching over 2200m in height, the Vitosha Mountain offers amazing views over the city and isn’t too challenging to climb due to its shallow gradient. The best way to reach the mountain is to go to the mountain’s ski resort, Aleko, using the Simeonovo gondola, and then walk to the Black Peak.
