Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark, is a great choice for a weekend break as it can be reached by plane from London in around 2 hours and boasts plenty of fun things to see and do.

We have taken a look at just some of the fun activities in Copenhagen that you could choose to do when you visit this vibrant city.

Tivoli Gardens

Opened in 1843, Tivoli Gardens is an amusement park with a difference as it transports you into what feel like a completely different world.

With its combination of stunning buildings, gorgeous gardens, fun rides, including it famous wooden rollercoaster, and other great entertainment options, Tivoli gardens offers something for people of all ages. You’ll also find a wide choice of food and drink options so finding something delicious to eat won’t be a problem!

Copenhagen Zoo

Founded in 1859, Copenhagen zoo is one of the oldest zoos in Europe and offers visitors the chance to see a whole range of animals including elephants, hippos, and polar bears to name just a few.

There is also a petting zoo for children to enjoy where they can meet goats and other small animals, and plenty of opportunities to see different animals around the zoo being fed. Just check the zoos website for details about timings before you visit so you can plan your day.

Canal tours

Although maybe not as famed for canal tours as Amsterdam and Venice, seeing Copenhagen from a boat is a very fun way to experience the city and see it from a completely new angle.

On one of these popular tours you will see sights such as the Copenhagen Opera House, the Little Mermaid Statue (which may be a bit smaller than you would expect!), and you’ll travel through attractive areas such as Christianshavn and Holmen during your journey too.

With all of these fun activities in Copenhagen to try out when you visit Denmark we think that is a great short break destination for everyone from couples to groups of friends, so why not plan your trip today?
