England's Best Walking Holidays
If you like to get out and about during your holiday and are looking to have a staycation this year you might want to consider a walking holiday in a destination that gives you plenty to see and lots of photo opportunities.
Here we share three of England’s best walking holidays which we believe that you will really enjoy when you next get the chance to head outside and explore.
Edale Skyline – Peak District
This picturesque walk surrounds the Vale of Edale and will take you around 20 miles to complete. With 1200 metres of ascent to contend with this is one for people with a good level of fitness and sensible hill walking gear!
The Edale Skyline walk takes in a number of places of interest including Lose Hill, Rushup Edge, Brown Knoll, and Win Hill, and is also a good training walk if you are hoping to do a trekking challenge in the future.
Weymouth to Swanage – Dorset
This 27 mile walk will take you along England’s first World Heritage Site, the Jurassic Coast, where you can take in views of bays and cliffs throughout your journey.
You'll see Broadrock, Perry Ledge, Chaldon Hill, Chapmans Pool and the famous Lulworth Cove as you head along this route, and you will also spot Durdle Door, a natural limestone arch that is definitely an impressive landmark to add to your holiday photo album.
Coniston Round – Lake District
No walking holiday round-up is complete without a trek in the Lake District, and the 14 mile walk around Coniston Round is very popular due to its impressive coast and mountain views.
With the Coniston Old Man and Cliffs of Dow Cragg to admire, this walk mainly takes place on high ridges so be prepared to fight off any fear of heights that you may have and just enjoy the stunning surrounding views during your trip.
With so many naturally beautiful places to spend a walking holiday in England you really are spoilt for choice, but we hope that these three amazing examples will help to inspire you to book yours in the near future.
