If you are hoping to head off for a skiing holiday this winter you may be interested in finding out about the top ski resorts in France.

Here we share our ideas which we hope will inspire you to hit the slopes and have a fun and adventurous holiday in the snow.

Morzine

A great place to head if you are hoping to spend time in a ski resort that looks like it has come straight out of a fairytale, Morzine is a stunning Alpine town that boasts many fantastic qualities throughout the year.

Skiing in Morzine is best in the middle of the season as it has quite low altitude which means that the pistes are sometimes not open all the way down either side of peak season, but the resort’s amazing après ski and selection of activities other than skiing mean that it is a great base for groups of friends and families too.

St Lary Soulan

For a cheaper option than the Alps you may prefer to head to the family friendly French Pyrenees and the resort of St Lary Soulan, which is the largest resort in the region and is home to popular thermal baths.

There are three different skiing areas so you will find an option for you whether you are a beginner or a freestyler, plus bars at the base of the cable car mean that this resort boasts a good après too.

Courchevel

For those looking for a fancy ski holiday, Courchevel is the place to go. It is known as being the classiest resort in the Trois Vallees, with a price tag to match, but boasts a great range of courses 5* accommodation, and designer shops too!

This is certainly number one on the list for those who might like to do some celebrity spotting as part of their ski trip.

There are lots of ski resorts in France to choose from and the one that you decide on will really depend on your own tastes, so why not order some ski brochures and see which option takes your fancy?
